So you know you need an HVAC contractor for your commercial project in Red Deer, but where do you start? Finding a reliable contractor can be challenging with so many options available. Here are some simple tips to help you choose the right contractor for your commercial HVAC services.
Ask Around
Ask people in your industry for recommendations and look at online reviews. This is a great way to get an idea of what type of experiences real people have had with different companies. You might find that you get some great recommendations this way, or at least some suggestions of which companies not to go with. Most reputable companies will have a page on their website dedicated to client reviews and testimonials so you can easily see what customers are saying about the company.
"Would leave 10 stars if I could!"
Had a technician out to our place to diagnose a heating problem we had after having a different company out that couldn’t resolve the problem, took him minutes to find problem get us parts & show us along the way what repairs he has completed, chase is very knowledgeable & is the man for any of your heating / cooling needs! I would leave 10 stars if I could!

"Transparent, very professional and leave space tidy"
I have used McMullen’s twice now this year, we had an issue with a badly piped (by another company) in-floor heat system that was leaking and the technician came in and did a great job removing the old system and installing the new, much tidier and robust system for us.
We also hired them for a gas line rough in and heater install for a newly built garage. They have always been transparent on costs, very professional, the technicians call before they come, explain their work and leave the space clean and tidy when they go.
Glen has been immensely helpful for all our questions on both plumbing and heating. It has been an absolute pleasure to deal with this company.

"Traditional Professionalism"
For several years our family has accessed McMullen’s when our furnace has needed attention. Most recently this occurred today. As usual, and with their traditional professionalism and focus on customer service, McMullen’s provided excellent and expedient service. Without doubt whenever we require future assistance we will always reach out to McMullen’s. We would highly recommend it for anyone.

"Employee was knowledgeable, quick and saved us a few dollars"
When no one else would answer the phone, Mcmullens not only answered but showed up and fixed our furnace at 11 at night, it was put for no less than an hour because of these amazing people. the employee was knowledgeable quick and saved us a few dollars, 10/10 recommend for any of your furnace issues.

"Fast, honest reliable service, excellent qualified staff"
Fast, honest reliable service, excellent qualified staff. This was my second service call in a month (for two different furnaces). Both times it was a positive experience, knowing I was in good hands. Highly recommend this company!

"I will be going with McMullens again in the future!"
I have now relied on McMullen’s twice when I’ve been in a bind. The first time was when my AC went out during a heat wave right before a long weekend. McMullen’s was the first to get back to me and responded right away. The technician was friendly, knowledge and fast. He was also very reasonable with the bill
The second time was on New Years Eve when my furnace wouldn’t start. I called multiple places and McMullens was the first to get back. They got me back up and running in no time and, again, were VERY reasonable. I will be going with McMullens again in the future!

"Honest Outfit"
This company is quick to respond and not out to rip you off on emergency repairs. We’ve had a couple and they’ve answered our call in a timely fashion and tried not to overcharge us. Other places have. Please call this honest outfit for a happy outcome.

Review Licensure, Accreditations, & Insurance
Make sure that you check the licensure, insurance, and accreditation of any HVAC contractor before hiring them. Professional companies will happily give you all of that information when you ask. If they are resistant to giving you proof of licensure and insurance, this may be a red flag.
Proper Permitting
As you know, in our more bureaucratic world nothing is done without permitting. Always check that your HVAC contractor gets all the right permits to protect yourself from any potential fines or worse, in the case of an insurance claim.
Request a Price Quote
When talking to a potential HVAC contractor, ask them to provide a cost estimate. Once you give them some basic details about the work you need done, they should be able and willing to provide a rough estimate of how much you can expect to pay. At McMullen’s Refrigeration & Heating, we pride ourselves on being transparent when it comes to pricing. We are always happy to give potential customers a free price quote—simply let us know some information about your project and we’ll get back to you with a cost estimate.
Go with Your Gut
When you talk to a potential contractor, pay attention to your experience and listen to your gut. How is their customer service? Do you feel respected and listened to, or dismissed? Odds are, if something doesn’t feel right in that first interaction (be that in person, over the phone, or via email), you won’t feel right after you hire them either. Choose a contractor who answers your questions happily, gets back to you in a timely manner, and makes you feel comfortable.
We always go the extra mile with our services, from the initial consultation to completion of the project. Get in touch today to learn more and take the first step on your commercial HVAC project today!
