Have a look at these common plumbing issues that you might face and how to get them fixed.

1. Leaky faucet

A leaky faucet is a pretty common problem. Apart from being an inconvenience, a leaky faucet can shoot up your water bills because of the amount of water being wasted. The primary cause of a dripping faucet is that the internal washer has become stiff or completely worn out due to overuse over time. You can fix this problem with the right tools, but it would be best to call a plumbing service to ensure it is repaired properly.

2. Clogged shower drain

Very often, shower drains get clogged by soap residue and hair. A clogged drain can create a lot of trouble and unnecessary water stagnation. In some cases you need to deal with the problem right away to avoid flooding. You can try to use a plunger to unclog the drain. Add some petroleum jelly to the edge of the suction pad to improve the sealing. Make sure to plunge vigorously.

3. Running toilet

If you have a running toilet, you are going through a lot of water, without even noticing. The most common cause is a faulty flapper valve that controls water from the tank to the bowl. You can usualy fix it with a toilet repair kit available at a hardware store in your area or order one online.

4. Low Water Pressure

If water trickles out of the tap instead of gushing out, it is a sign of low water pressure. The main reason for low water pressure is broken or corroding pipes. There may be sediment build-up inside the aerators causing low water pressure in showers. If it is a showerhead, soak it in vinegar for a day then clean it with a toothbrush or replace it with a new showerhead.
